As part of our 2024 Q3 Global Employee Study, we asked employees to what degree they agree or disagree with the following statements:

  1. Senior leaders have the skills and knowledge to do their jobs well
  2. Senior leaders in my organization prioritize people’s wellbeing over immediate profit or gains.
  3. The behavior of senior leadership is consistent with this organization’s values.

We found the percentage of global employees from each industry that agreed with each statement, then averaged these scores to find each industry’s Trust Index rating. Employees working in IT: Software & Services have the highest trust in their senior leaders, with a Trust Index rating of 75% favorable, while Government/Public Sector employees have the lowest trust in their senior leaders (49%). Use these insights to understand how your employees’ trust in senior leadership compares to employees in your industry.

The data for this report comes from a global employee study that Qualtrics XM Institute conducted in the third quarter of 2024. Using an online survey, Qualtrics collected data from 36,872 employees across 23 countries/regions: Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, Denmark, France, Germany, Hong Kong (China), India, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Mexico, the Netherlands, New Zealand, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

Only industries with 500+ employees responding were included in this snippet.
